in today’s technological landscape
who feels off and wants things to change.

over 30 days we will look honestly at the relationship we have with our mobile devices, trying out simple small changes to create a greater sense of ease in our bodies and increased ability to focus and finish tasks. we will leave with some tools which can be used over and over to bring us back to ourselves. individually, we will practice mindfulness and self-compassion as tools for change, while collectively we will access the accountability present in community support.

with registration you will recieve:


+ a 90 minute class on Zoom
first outlining why this shift is important:
-who benefits from our distraction and online engagement?
-what is happening inside our bodyminds when we plug in?
-how do these machines hold such power over us?
with time to reflect and discuss why this change is important for you: 
-what do you love that has fallen away?
-what would you do with more time in your day?
-how do you feel, and how do you want to feel?


+ access to a private Discord server for one month
in which daily assignments and prompts will be posted,
where all attendees can discuss their experience of the journey.
we will cycle through days of noticing, assessing, preparing, and taking action,
leading up to a 24 hour separation period 3 weeks into the course. 

+ a 90 minute closing session on Zoom
in which we will process the experience in small groups and all together,
closing the container and giving us strength to continue what has been started.

this course runs from Tuesday October 25th (new moon) to Wednesday November 23rd (new moon).


the Zoom sessions are 10/25 from 6-7:30p CST and 11/23 from 6-7:30p CST
all links and attendance info will be emailed on 10/24
live sessions will be recorded and posted in the Discord for future reference,
so if you miss them you will still have all the info!
engagement in the Discord is a personal choice, self directed- and it is recommended to create a daily practice of accessing the material and making shifts in community or on your own.

about the teacher:


rey hope hansen is a self employed visual artist, dancer, writer, and educator. they have been structuring their own time since 2017 and have been in deep conversation about their own phone/tech relationship for the past 5 years. the precursor to this offering was “Developing Daily Practices and Cultivating Creative Attention”, a 4-week class at the Beaubourg School in Fall 2021. rey has taken that material and refined it into this course, focusing on practices and techniques for reducing phone time and changing habits.
